Like fuselage and wings, gears also use pins as guide and/or alignment. Please start with assembling gears followed by assembling wheels.

 

Preparing Gears and Wheels

  • To cut the required shaft, you may use dremel tool/rotary saw (or similar tool).
  • Landing gear wheel stop set collar is required to put at one end of the shaft and lock it at that position.
  • It can be used only for one side and the other side is formed like an "L" shape to stop the wheel out of the shaft or on both sides.

Assembling Gears and Wheels

  • Feel free to click the left side figures showing the usage of shaft and wheel stop collar for assembling landing gears.
  • The shaft diameter depends on how big is the wheel and also the total weight of the plane (just follow information in the specific OWLplane Model web page under PRODUCTS tab for the specification).
